Pixels & Possibilities

Pixels & Possibilities is a digital illustration and creative technology project delivered in primary and secondary schools and community settings across the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council area by West Armagh Consortium.

Our funding supports the delivery of high-quality digital illustration workshops to young people, using industry-standard equipment and software — removing barriers and ensuring every student can fully engage with creative technology, regardless of personal or school resources.

Students are building practical digital illustration skills, growing in confidence with digital tools, and gaining a clearer understanding of how creativity and technology connect to real-world career pathways. Teachers report high levels of engagement, focus, and pride in the finished work, with professional equipment enabling learning outcomes well beyond what’s normally possible in the classroom.

The impact has extended far beyond the workshops themselves. Finished artwork is now being shared across school displays, digital showcases, and social media — sparking excitement among pupils, staff, and parents, and generating strong interest in follow-on workshops.

One standout example comes from Foley Primary School, Ballymacnab, where staff went the extra mile by printing every piece of student artwork and creating a large-scale display. The work became a central feature of the school’s Grandparents Day, with both students and staff proudly celebrating what had been achieved.

We’re delighted to see this project inspiring confidence, creativity, and community — and excited about its potential to grow even further.
