Dreamscheme NI, a youth charity supporting disadvantaged young people aged 11–18, is launching a transformative digital media project across five housing estates in Belfast and Antrim. With support from the James Kane Foundation, young people at risk of exclusion will gain hands-on experience in video, podcasting, digital marketing, AI-driven content creation, and graphic design.
The project combines skills practice, expert mentoring, and real-world live projects, giving participants the confidence and competence to engage with the fast-growing digital media sector. Over three years, Dreamscheme will reach 240 young people, recruit 24 mentors, and deliver 480 work experience opportunities through community-based projects.
The Foundation has committed significant funding to support this work, funding a part-time Project Co-ordinator, equipment, software, and essential programme costs. This investment will open new educational and career pathways, helping young people from some of the most disadvantaged communities to thrive.
