Jun 28, 2026

The 2026 Capita Northern Ireland Schools ICT Excellence Awards took place on 23 June 2026, at The Merchant Hotel in Belfast.

Themed “Making a difference for learners,” the ceremony celebrated schools that successfully integrated digital technology to improve educational outcomes”.

This year there was additional awards in Digital Creativity, sponsored by Northern Ireland Screen where judges were looking for evidence of outstanding digital creativity by teachers and by learners in the use of digital/screen technologies. All primary, post-primary, nursery, special schools and EOTAS centres in Northern Ireland were invited to apply for an award.

This year the EOTAS project, funded by The James Kane Foundation, won this special Digital Creativity Award, a fantastic achievement and a very well deserved recognition of a fantastic initiative which, through specialised training at NERVE Belfast and Derry, W5 LIFE, and the AMMA Centre Armagh, is building expertise in areas such as photography, filmmaking, game development, and scriptwriting, helping young people achieve industry-relevant qualifications that strengthen their future career and education prospects and help them achieve a Level 2 qualification in CADT.
