This year The James Kane Foundation is supporting the Lincoln Awards, a bursary programme delivered by the Integrated Education Fund (IEF).
Paul Caskey OBE, Chief Executive of the Integrated Education Fund, said:
“The Integrated Education Fund (IEF) is delighted to have received this grant from The James Kane Foundation in support of the Lincoln Awards. Established in 2021, the Lincoln Awards is a bursary programme that supports disadvantaged young people from Integrated colleges who have been offered a place on a higher education course. Past recipients tell us that the bursaries have helped ease financial worries at a pivotal time in their education, giving them more confidence in themselves and what they can achieve. This match funding from the James Kane Foundation will enable us to significantly expand and develop the Lincoln Awards programme, supporting more young people in need. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Foundation both from the IEF and from the Lincoln Awards founders.”
Each participating Integrated College can nominate one or two students who meet the award criteria. For 2026/27, each award is worth £1,000 per student.
Two such students are Tetiana and Tymofii from Slemish College in Ballymena, who are preparing to begin their studies at Ulster University and Queen’s University Belfast.
The bursaries will provide valuable support as they begin this next chapter of their education. We’d like to wish all recipients of the Lincoln Awards the best of luck with their ongoing education.
