With support from the James Kane Foundation, the Jobs For Me project will engage more than 700 Year 9 and 10 pupils across Antrim and Newtownabbey, encouraging them to become “Career Explorers.” By connecting young people with 40 local employers, the project will inspire pupils to recognise their skills, explore STEM pathways, and make informed choices about future careers and education.
Running from May 2025 to October 2026, Jobs For Me will include school engagement, site visits, and community-based pilots, ensuring that young people—including those from a local SEN school—see first-hand the opportunities available in their area.
The Foundation has committed significant funding towards the cost of this project, helping pupils understand not only what career options are open to them, but why meaningful work matters.
