Young Enterprise: Building Aspirations for Young People

Aug 28, 2025

The Building Aspirations Project is transforming opportunities for young people in 18 non-selective schools across Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon, and Newry, Mourne and Down. These schools, with above-average levels of free school meal entitlement, will benefit from a whole-school approach to developing vital enterprise and financial skills.

Over the next three years, more than 6,000 students annually will gain practical knowledge in financial capability, work readiness, and entrepreneurship—helping them build confidence, broaden aspirations, and prepare for future careers.

The James Kane Foundation has awarded significant funding towards the first two phases of this project, which is aimed to reach over 13,200 learners, equipping them with the skills to succeed in both education and employment.
